Equine Surgeon (m/f/d) – Specialist in veterinary surgery for our Equine Department,

About us:

We, the Tierärztliche Klinik Gessertshausen Altano GmbH, are one of the largest veterinary hospitals in southern Germany with small animal, horse, cattle and exotic animal departments and a professional and open-minded team of 180 employees. We offer modern equipment, a wide range of diagnostics (including digital x-rays, US, CT, endoscopy, etc.) and a variety of therapies. Our veterinary team is highly specialised in areas such as internal medicine, orthopaedics, surgery, cardiology, dentistry and ophthalmology and is available 24 hours a day for emergencies. Quietly located in a local recreation area, our site in Gessertshausen has very good public transport connections to Augsburg, Munich and Ulm.

Your tasks at a glance:

  • Soft tissue and bone surgery as well as emergency surgery (annually 400 surgeries)
  • Being planned - a state-of-the-art, newly built hospital with 3 operating theatres (2 rooms for surgeries with general anaesthesia and 1 room for surgeries with standing anaesthesia)
  • State-of-the-art operating theatre equipment
  • CT-assisted surgeries (Qalibra CT scanner with Canon Aquilion LB Exceed)
  • Wide range of diagnostic options, e.g. ultrasound, X-ray, endoscopy, CT
  • Management of the surgery department with many opportunities to bring in new ideas and suggestions
  • Close cooperation with the entire hospital team and international consultant surgeons

Your qualifications and competences:

  • Veterinary specialist for equine medicine or/and ECVS Diplomate
  • Independent way of working combined with team spirit, a reliable work attitude and innovative ideas
  • Motivation to shape the surgical department for horses in a future-oriented way and to further develop it according to the latest standards
  • Willingness to participate in weekend and emergency shifts
  • You like to take over responsibility and maintain an overview even in turbulent phases
